Himalayan Articles - Donating

Donations to keep our shelter running are greatly needed. You can make a donation at Paypal.com using the button below.

Monthly deductions are our favorite form of financial support. It is easy to do this through our Adopt a Cage program. Knowing that we can count on some income each month is very helpful.

AHS By the Numbers

  • 250 cats (approximately) live with the shelter.
  • $4000 is the average monthly cost of running the shelter.
  • 250 cats (approximately) have been adopted in the past year.
  • 60 tons of kitty litter is used by the shelter in a year.
  • 60 tons of used kitty litter has to be hauled away in the dumpsters per year.

What can a donation buy?

  • $5 feeds one cat for a month.
  • $5 buys a series of 2 feline distemper and upper respiratory virus vaccinations.
  • $9 buys 80 pounds of cat litter (enough for 50 cats for one day)
  • $12 buys one microchip and registration for one cat.
  • $15 buys one feline leukemia virus test.
  • $50 buys a spay/neuter operation.

Extra Credit Question

What will a healthy cat cost in vet bills in order to be ready for adoption?

Hint: It will need a spay/neuter operation, a leukemia test, distemper and rabies vaccinations, and a microchip.
